Hello Neighbor review
Hello Neighbor Review
Hello Neighbor is a 1st-person horror game based on stealth-action gameplay mechanics. During the game, you have to play a young boy and help him solve dangerous quests to investigate the mystery of his Neighbor’s basement. Hello Neighbor is a really unusual installment for the genre.
Hide & Seek – 5/5
Hello Neighbor offers excellent stealth-action gameplay that involves lots of sneaking, stealing, and hiding from the enemy. You play Nicky, a boy from the average US neighborhood, who notices that his Neighbor, Mr. Peterson, keeps people in his basement against their will. The brave boy decides to figure out what’s wrong and sneaks into the Neighbor’s house. Your mission is to help the boy solve all the quests to steal the keys from the basement and do a variety of other things to reach the truth.
Surrealistic Story – 5/5
The graphics style in Hello Neighbor reminds some of the best Tim Burton’s movies and cartoons, such as “Corpse Bride,” and Henry Selic’s “Coraline.” However, the entire game looks fresh and unique. The world around the small kid is large and full of dangers. Due to this, you can feel the atmosphere of fear more intensively. While you don’t wait for realism in this game, discovering some surprising creative solutions are guaranteed.
Universal Grip – 5/5
Hello Neighbor is perfectly adapted for all the available platforms. The computer version supports not only the default input but console controllers as well. Mobile devices are compatible with Bluetooth and USB-C controllers too. In the settings, you can adjust the sensitivity of your controller and reassign buttons if needed.
Good Story – 4/5
This game is based on a classic video game blueprint and offers you to experience only a singleplayer story. Unfortunately, the multiplayer mode is available only in 2 spin-offs – Secret Neighbor and Hello Neighbor: Hide & Seek. The story of the game takes around 10-12 hours to complete as many quests require replays to finally outsmart the Neighbor.
Hello Neighbor is an awesome game for those who like unusual indie game design and unpredictable gameplay twists. It’s a unique horror story told by the eyes of a boy who got into a dangerous story and managed to unveil the dark secrets of his evil Neighbor, Mr. Peterson. You can download Hello Neighbor for a variety of devices, including PC, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. The mobile demo version is free to try.
