Spotify: Music and Podcasts Review
Spotify is a Swedish app that provides music streaming and media. The service was launched in 2008 by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon. Spotify has gained its popularity throughout time, and according to the 2019 statistic, it can boast 248 mln users!
App Functionality (4/5)
After downloading the app, you must create an account or log in with Facebook or Google. Spotify features a bunch of singers and bands on your screen. Make your choice, and the app system will know your preferences. There is a free and premium plan. Using the free plan, you won’t have access to all features. Songs will be played only in a shuffle mode, and you can skip a limited number of tracks per day. The ads are included. Spotify Radio isn’t available.
Premium users don’t have any limits. They can skip any track, listen to music offline, hear high-quality tracks, and use the app on their mobile computer remote control. They can also check their friends’ playlists, create and edit their own, discover new music, and share it.
Spotify Design (5/5)
Spotify privilege is its black modern design, though someone would call it quite monotonous. We think the colorful main pictures of songs create the whole awesomely stylish image. Contrasting colors will keep your mind active. Desktop and mobile interfaces are similar enough so that they won’t get you puzzled. The non-screaming design is just right for this kind of app.
Usage Simplicity (5/5)
The app has a user-friendly interface. Music is sorted in the desktop library into different categories: your daily mix, recently played, songs, albums, artists, stations, local files, videos podcasts, charts, genres and moods, new releases, etc. On your phone, the library includes playlists, artists, albums. You can find new songs or get some recommendations by tapping on “Home”. Moreover, Spotify lets you search the music by genre, mood, or purpose.
Compatibility and Safety (4/5)
You don’t need pretentious devices to run Spotify. The platforms required for the app functioning: iOS 11 or above, Android OS 4.1 or above, OS X 10.10 or above, Desktop and laptops are running Windows 7 or above.
Spotify once suffered data breaches, when hackers accessed a huge number of accounts. The developers have, therefore, been taking measures to prevent such things.
Spotify is an excellent media service. Although the free plan doesn’t allow much, the premium plan is admirable. The app is compatible with many platforms, so that won’t make you any trouble. The safety issue once appeared is now dealt with. Go for it!
